The Museum of Contemporary Art, designed by the Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza, is hosted inside a modern building.
Even though the museum doesn’t enjoy the same fame and splendour as the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, still it was built in a way that it represents, together with the Monastery and the garden of St. Dominique, a single architectural complex, which perfectly mirrors the multiple souls of the city: history, tradition, modernity, culture.
From the museum terrace, visitors can enjoy a superb view over the city centre. Contemporary art exhibitions are regularly held inside the museum.
