The medieval city of Santiago swarms of people, houses, bars, shops and churches.
The entangled frame of the historic centre is a maze of winding and climbing streets, with the Cathedral being the reference point of it all. There are very numerous churches of different styles and ages. Many porches are decorated with high relieves.
Looking at the statues that stand out of the portals, it is possible to perceive the original colours which were used to embellish the decorations, and which time has preserved unaltered until today. If you pay attention to details, you’ll be able to notice the Madonnas with their red cheeks and their blue and purple dresses.
